Industrial work at Beckman Instruments GmbH in Munich as aproduct-line manager (analytical instrumentation); (from 65 – 70on same position – part-time - besides the university studies)

Further studies in chemistry at the Technische Hochschule (TH)Munich (F.R. Germany), finished with a Diploma thesis under the advice of Prof. H. Gerischer (Institute of Physical Chemistry andElectrochemistry), title: “Photo-Effects at the Semiconductor Surface:ZnO/Electrolyte Solution”

1970-1979

Research Associate (head of the geochemical laboraties) at the "Mineralogisch-Petrographisches Institut" of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich; start-up of a mass spectrometric isotope lab for geochronological studies

Ph.D graduation as external student under the advice of Prof. G. Ertl (Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2007), Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich), thesis: "Working  Principle of Ion Selective Electrodes "
